Faux Break away brick in Gilbert, AZ

Now that Kerri and I are both recovering from our surgeries I have time to finally get caught up with my facebook post for you. BTW we are both doing well and on the mend. Hope to be back at it in late January or early February. We have work booked as soon as we can get back to it. Right before Thanksgiving we did this great break-away brick faux for a Gilbert family home. Even in horrible pain Kerri managed to pull off an incredible look!

I am really behind in my posting. After finishing our project in Scottsdale we had two other projects that we needed to get completed before Kerri's neck surgery. She is doing well and it is nice to have the holiday's to rest and heal. I have added some pictures here of the project we had in Gilbert of a few columns in need of some marble faux. Kerri and the client were very pleased with the results.

Completed project in Scottsdale

With the completion of the powder bath and master bedroom we finally completed our project in Scottsdale that began in June of this year. Besides the full marble look through the home we did an accent arch in the powder bath in multi-layered metallic faux finish. I am really behind in my postings and will try to catch you up on all our latest projects

Faux painting in Gilbert

We are not finished with our project in Scottsdale but had to run to Gilbert to do some niches and outlet covers. Check it out!

Oh Boy Ceilings!!! Kerri is working her magic on the master bedroom ceiling while Cubby works on the entry ceiling. Oh and Danny helped in both areas. We should finish up our ceilings this week. We will be happy to have them behind us. Ceilings are a pain in the neck.....get it...pain in the neck. No seriously they hurt your neck. More to come from our project in North Scottsdale.

Our project in Cave Creek is coming along nicely. We now have the hall leading from the garage to the kitchen and the Kitchen breakfast nook area done. Kerri has now begun work in the great room. From Scaffolding to floor it's pretty exhausting work. Not great pictures here. We grabbed some quick shots at the end of the day. More to come with updates on the project. Stay cool!!!!!

We continue to work in Cave Creek this week. This is week number 3. We are doing a huge home and almost every wall. We will be here for the next couple of months. So far we have completed a long hall entrance to the kitchen and half of the kitchen. The hallway is hard to get pictures of but here are a few peeks and a snap shot of one of the large niches in the kitchen. Hope everyone had a great Father's Day!

We finished up our project at the Scottsdale Clausen house just before the holiday weekend. The client wanted her bar and dividing wall to have the colors of her tile. Kerri did a great job of matching the colors. We are back up to Scottsdale this week. A big project that will take us a month to complete. I will post pictures as we progress through it. Hope you had a great Memorial weekend.

Wanted to share with you our latest project. We did a marble faux to two columns in the Kelly's Scottsdale home. I had some trouble getting good pictures here due to a wall to floor window and the columns being so far apart. I added a close up to show you Kerri's ever impressive marble art. With that we are taking off next week to go on a number of appointments. Then we have a project in North Phoenix we will be taking on. Please click on the picture to see all of the pictures and visit us at www.fauxbykerrig.com

We finished our ceiling project at the Hick's home in Scottsdale. Metallic finishes are hard to photograph due to their shinny nature. The client was very happy with how well it turned out. I wish I had gotten a before...before picture. The ceiling was originally a dark red faux before it was painted out. It is beautiful and up lifting now.
We are back to columns after this project. Photos soon. See more great faux at www.fauxbykerrig.com

I am behind in my posting. Busy weekend. I won't share what Kerri did. Let's just say the test she took doesn't need to be repeated for another 5 years. We did finish our ceiling at the Hicks Scottsdale home. I will have pictures soon. The home owner loved it and we were very pleased with the results. We are off to Scottsdale again this week on a column job. Pictures are coming.

Kerri's back has improved (we hope) enough for us to return to work. We were scheduled to do that today (Monday). Yesterday while out walking our dogs Kerri had to get in between our Chow and a neighbor's German Sheppard. Her first thought was to dive on to the pavement and cover our Chow from being attacked. A fight I would put money on our chow winning.... but I digress. The owner of the German Sheppard corralled her dog before the attack left either dog harmed. You probably see where this is going but to dismiss speculation Kerri ended up scrapping arms elbows and knees. Normally this wouldn't have slowed her down but she bruised an elbow and faux painting a ceiling the next day wouldn't be fun. Also pain killers and scaffolding don't mix. Our very understandable client let us move the project to Wednesday. God willing we will start then. I hope the next story is all about the joy of faux painting!!!!!

We have been taking advantage of some down time for Kerri's back to heal. The damage was more than first thought but we have a good chiropractor and a what looks like a pharmacy of medicine to help her quickly heal. We are still going on appointments and spending some time admiring the faux painting in our home.

We hope everyone had a great Valentines Day! We have been spending our time meeting with people and trying to catch up on the back end of the business. Taxes, inventory, drop cloth washing, the list goes on. Kerri tweaked her back on our last project. Powder baths can be brutal sometimes. So we are taking some recovery time as well. Have a great week. Hope it is a short one for you with Monday being a holiday. (back to website click on the blue "website" link in the upper right hand corner)

....and more appointments

We continue this week with our trips around the valley meeting with potential clients. We have one small interruption. Our Cocker Spaniel "Brownie" is going in for 3 separate surgeries. He has a large tumor on his chest, a large mole on his nose and eye lid. The vet says this should be an easy surgery but we know he is going to be very uncomfortable for awhile. Hope it's a great week for every one!

Doing Appointments

We had a fun time at the home show this past weekend. It was great to see so many past clients drop by. We are off doing appointments this week. We didn't win the powerball either so were putting in some miles to meet with future clients. We will be all over the valley. From Buckeye to North Phoenix and Chandler. Hope you have a great week!

We are working in Gilbert this week. Marble faux columns. Pictures to come

Saturday, January 9, 2016

Busy week for us. Here are the pictures from the Radetich Scosttdale home.
Had to call in the help of Mark Hall (Cubby).
It took two layers of scaffolding to get up to this large entry ceiling.
Kerri did a multi-layered copper metallic faux.
Then we came down the entry way walls with a water mark type faux.
Kerri finished off by adding some accent veins.
This was a surprise Christmas present for the homeowner's wife.
She was thrilled when she saw it and according to the text we got, she didn't want the grandfather clock put back in the entry way.
She didn't want her beautiful faux covered up by anything.
Kerri has worked in this home before.
I included some pictures of the fireplace and kitchen island.
We will be working in this home again soon.

Happy New Year to all our family and friends. We hope the holidays were exactly what you wanted them to be. We spent the days with family and friends and tried to relax. Kerri continues to put up a good fight against the cold. She has so many plants to cover, uncover, and recover every day that it can get pretty tiresome. It's a good thing the weather will warm a bit as we head back to work this week. This is another tough one with two story scaffolding. Pictures to come. Have a great week and good luck keeping up the resolutions!
